Basset Farms Conservancy
This project uses regenerative agriculture to create an experience that uncovers the land’s complicated relationship with agriculture, race, and time. The last living remnants of the farms, the herd of Hereford cattle, are transformed from a detriment into a vehicle for recovery. Condensing the herd to 5 rotational plots expedites the recovery of their soil and allows remaining plots to be restored. Trails then link these grazing plots with views of prairie restoration, and historical artifacts across the site.
