Stoma: Land Art at the UT Microfarm
Finished in the thick of the COVID19 pandemic, this project was chance to come together and build a safe space to share. Modeled as an abstraction of a leaf stoma, this Green Fund Grant project is a living, breathing gathering space for the student led gardens and neighboring intramural fields. Built with native biodegradable materials, the work is designed to withstand seasonal flooding from the nearby Waller Creek. As construction coordinator I assisted in preparing grant applications, organized material delivery, and led volunteer efforts to construct the mounds.
